This tour brings you in Thethi and Valbona national parks which are two of the most beautiful natural areas in Albania. We have planned the various stages of this tour very carefully giving you the opportunity to discover something new every day and to be in touch with the nature all the time. A varied landscape, with high mountains and steep cliffs, beautiful valleys and waterfalls will accompany you during the whole journey.

Day 1: Thethi, the oldest village in the Albanian alps, 750 m.
The tour begins immediately upon arrival in Tirana airport around noon. The first stop of the day is Shkodra, one of the oldest inhabited cities in Albania with an over 2400-years old history. Numerous people, countries and cultures have left their traces on this city of culture. Many places, sights, monuments, memorials, statues and ruins bear witness of this eventful history. After a brief exploration of the city we continue to Theth where the overnight in a simple but clean guesthouse is planned. Wt 2 H. (-/-/D)

Day 2: Theth and its surroundings. T1+, W t 5 h; Am↑480 Dm ↓480
The day begins with an introductory walk through the village with the visit of the church and the " Lock-in Tower" (Kulla e ngujimit). Then begins the varied walking towards the gorge of Grunas, which is 30 meters high and one meter wide, and waterfall of Grunas. After a short break we continue our walk up to Ndėrlysa. The glacier mills of Ndėrlysa offer a unique spectacle of nature: The water of the Black River (Lumi i Zi) squeezes through a narrow approach that has arisen over the millennia. Rounded and sharp rock formations, in the sunlight shimmering colors of water and stone can be observed from both shores. We continue our hike up to the "Blue Eye of Kapreja" (Syri i kaltėr i Kapresė), a natural pool with amazing blue water in a jungle-like environment. After a short break, we follow the same path to the guest house. (B/-/D)

Day 3: Runica: T3, Wt 4 h, Am ↑1000 Dm ↓130
Starting from Thethi we follow the regular trail, which is relatively simple and runs at the right of the river bed. The path passes over small streams that end on Thethi river, up to the water source "Kroi i Shtrazės" in 930 m altitude, where the pine forest begins. The trail follows through the forest in the direction of Peja Pass (Qafa e Pejės), and becomes steeper. From Peja Pass the view over the entire Thethi valley is breathtaking. The trail follows north with slight slope differences, on a firm grass and stony path and the descent continues in the direction of the Peēakeqi lake, from which the majestic fast vertical south wall of Arapi can be admired. After passing close to the small Peēakeqi Lakes (Liqenet e Peēakeqit), the trail continues northwards for almost 2 km, until an abandoned building that used to be a military border checkpoint of the Alps. We set up the tents here, while in a small ravine 50 meters away comes out the water spring of "Sheu i Bardhė". (B/L/D)

Day 4: Jezerca lakes: T3, W t 4, 5 h, Am ↑440 Dm ↓320
After breakfast, the hiking continues north on a slight downhill slope up to a small forest. Below, on the left lies a flat field named "Fusha e Runicės", while above stand the imposing Lakojve peaks, with their tower-like rocky pillars. The trail takes a slight turn to the right and the ascent begins southwards by the forest. Above the forest, on the ridge, appears a large rocky glacial cirque. The trail continues to the east over the rocky ground, leaving the cirque on the right and hiking uphill up to the Pass of Jezerca (Qafa e Jezercės) at 2110 m altitude. The pass offers an impressive view of Maja e Jezercės and Maja e Kokėrhanes. From here the trail starts descending and half a kilometer from the pass lies an appropriate place for camping, not far from the Great Lake of Jezerca (Liqeni i Madh i Jezercės). After lunch, a visit to the other lakes is also possible. (B/L/D)

Day 5: Jezerca and Valbona: T5+, W t.9h, Am ↑900 Dm ↓1600
Early wake-up to restart the ascent. At the beginning the terrain is not so steep and the hike passes by the cirques north of Kolaj Pass (Qafa e Kolajve). Then the slope increases and the hike becomes more demanding and difficult. Some parts of scree should be traversed and firn surfaces on this north ridge may vary, depending on the time of the ascent and snowfall's amount. After crossing a couloir that leads to the last part of the ascent, some first grade climbing abilities are needed to get higher and eventually pass the large horizontal layers of rock that look like stairs. Beyond this there's the summit of Jezerca (2694 m) and below, the breathtaking panorama it dominates. A short stay for some pictures and rest is to be followed by the descent from the southwestern ridge of Jezerca. Then a long transversal hike around the western cirque leads to Alia Pass (Qafa e Alisė) and the descent continues through Vali Trough (Lugu i Valit). Overnight stay in a guesthouse in Valbona. (B/L/D)

Day 6: Over Valbona Pass (Qafa e Valbonės) to Theth. T2+, Wt 6 h, Am ↑ 700 Dm ↓ 1070
Today's hike starts early in the morning. After crossing a stream, the trail leads gently uphill through open forest to a glade with rocks and then begins a rough upward slope. On the "Qafa e Valbonės" in the altitude of 1812 m, the view of both valleys is unique. The descent towards Thethi begins very steep on a gravel path and follows through the forest, becoming smoother. During all this trip we will be accompanied by horses that carry our luggage. The overnight stay is planned in guest house in Theth. (B/L/D)

Day 7: The return trip to Tirana runs through Lezha.
Arrival in Tirana around 16:00 clock. Time for a break and then we take the cable car to Dajti mountain, part of Dajti National Park. The mountain has two main summits: Dajti (1,613 m) and Tujani (1531 m) north of it, both covered with dense beech forests. Dajti mountain is part of Krujė-Dajt mountain range, which rises abruptly from the coastal plain and is cut by deep river valleys. The mountain consists mainly of limestone. From the cable car terminal at "Fusha e Dajtit" (1050 m) there’s a magnificent view over Tirana, Durrės and the whole central-west Albania up to the Adriatic sea. Here we will have dinner at a traditional restaurant. After our return from Dajti, you can spend some pleasant moments in one of the “Block” area bars and enjoy the vibrant night life of Albanian capital city.. (B/-/D)

Day 8: Transfer to airport after breakfast (B/-/-).
