The day starts with the drive to Elbasan, where you can take some time to enjoy its historical charm. Continue the journey to the shimmering Ohrid Lake and the lively promenade of Pogradec, a perfect spot for a lakeside lunch. Then, head to Korça, nestled on the slopes of the Morava Mountain. Korça offers a mix of history and culture with the National Museum of Medieval Art, its traditional market, and the modern Cathedral of “Christ Resurrection.” End your day with comfortable accommodation in Korça, surrounded by its rich heritage.

After breakfast, drive to Përmet, stopping en route in Leskovik, a small town surrounded by the stunning Melesin and Pindus Mountain ranges. You can enjoy your lunch at one of the charming restaurants along the way before continuing to the natural wonders of Bënjë. Relax in the thermal pools by the Langarica River, framed by its dramatic canyon and the historic Ottoman Bridge of Katiu. The day concludes in Përmet, where accommodation awaits.

Begin your journey to Gjirokastra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site considered as a rare example of an Ottoman merchant town in the Balkans. Explore the impressive Gjirokastra Castle and step into the past at the Skënduli House, a beautifully preserved reflection of the region’s urban heritage. In the afternoon, you will have time to wander through the old city’s winding alleys, discovering local crafts and treasures in the charming Old Bazaar. After breakfast, set off for Butrint, Albania’s most significant archaeological site and a UNESCO World Heritage. Dating back to the 7th century B.C., Butrint was a key city in Epirus, steeped in myth and linked to the Trojan prince Aeneas. After exploring, unwind in Ksamil, often called “The Maldives of Europe,” with its warm waters and sunny weather. Conclude the day with a drive to Saranda, where you will stay overnight.

The Albanian Ionian Coast, stretching from Vlora to Saranda, is famed for its bays, pebbly beaches, and crystal-clear waters. This coastline holds a legacy of ancient cultures, from Roman ruins to hillside fortresses. After an hour’s drive, you will arrive at Porto Palermo Bay, known for its Cold War submarine tunnels and Ali Pasha’s fortress, offering spectacular views. Continue to Himara, where a short walk reveals stunning coastal vistas, then proceed to Dhërmi, a historic village of stone houses and timeless charm. Overnight in a hotel a coastal village.
