Introduction

At Adventure and Fun Albania, we recognize the need for action to address the current biodiversity loss, climate crisis and pollution crisis. As a travel company, we acknowledge the impact of the travel industry on the environment and are committed to becoming a leader in sustainable tourism. We have developed an Integrated Environmental Protection and Climate Action Plan that combines industry best practices with our own policies and goals, to outline our approach to promoting sustainable travel, protecting our beloved homeland, reducing emissions, and protecting biodiversity.

By 2030, we aim to:

1. Reduce carbon emissions: We will reduce our emissions per day, per traveller by 50% compared to the year 2022.
2. Offset carbon emissions: We will offset the emissions that can’t be reduced, to achieve net-zero emissions by 2030.
3. Support biodiversity: We will actively contribute to nature restoration, rewilding, and conservation efforts.
4. Promote sustainable travel: We will engage with our customers, suppliers, and partners to promote sustainable travel practices and reduce the environmental impact of tourism.
5. Reduce waste: We will reduce our own waste production per day, per traveller by 75% compared to the year 2022.
6. Help develop new sustainable destinations: To further reduce emissions and the negative impact of travel on the environment, we will help develop new sustainable destinations, to offer our travellers even more sustainable travel alternatives.

Measure

We will transparently measure and report our carbon emissions and environmental impact, providing our customers with the information they need to make informed decisions about their travel.
• Carbon Footprint Analysis: We will expand our carbon analysis to include estimates of all local transport, accommodation, activities, guides, staff, office operations, and food.
• Individual Customer Travel Plans: We will develop a method to measure and mitigate the carbon emissions from each individual customer’s travel plans, to better inform them about the impact of their travel plans.
• Waste measurement: We will continue measuring our waste production and expand this measurement to include food waste generated by travellers during our trips.

Reduce

We will implement strategies to reduce our carbon footprint and minimize our environmental impact.
• Carbon Reduction Strategy: We will develop a carbon reduction strategy and framework for 2023-2030, in consultation with our local partners and industry partners.
• Waste Reduction Strategy: We will develop a waste reduction strategy and framework for 2023-2030, in consultation with our local partners and industry partners.

Mitigate

We will support nature restoration, rewilding, and conservation efforts to mitigate the impact of our operations.
• Net-Zero Emissions: Through rewilding, we aim to achieve net-zero emissions by 2030.
• Nature Restoration: For every passenger who travels with us, we commit to rewilding land in Albania, contributing to the regeneration of our nature, that has been scarred with the wounds of unwise prior decision-making and fragile economy.
• Waste Collection: We will not only reduce our own waste but engage in efforts to collect 200% of the amount of waste we produce per year, from our mountains, rivers and beaches, and sent it to recycling plants.

Communicate

We will communicate our nature protection and climate action efforts transparently and engage with our customers, staff, and partners to promote sustainable travel practices.
• Transparency: We will share our progress and learnings, inviting criticism and collaboration.
• Customer Engagement: We will provide our customers with the information and resources they need to make sustainable travel choices.
