Shkodra, the cultural and political hub of northern Albania, boasts a 2400-year history as one of the country’s oldest inhabited cities. We suggest exploring the ethnographic museum and taking a short hike to Rozafa Castle. Perched on a steep hill between the Buna and Drin rivers, the castle’s origins trace back to the Illyrians and have shaped the city’s history over centuries.
